SUMMARY
ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ seeks an accomplished and experienced human resources leader to serve as Associate Vice President for Human Resources (AVP-HR), a newly titled role. Reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration and working closely with the senior leadership team of the College, the new AVP-HR will have the opportunity to transform a vitally important function in one of the leading liberal arts colleges in the country. The AVP-HR will possess human resources operational experience and a track record of executing on new strategies and approaches to better attract, retain, develop, and support the College’s employees.

The Associate Vice President for Human Resources will serve as a key institutional leader, responsible for driving the strategic direction and operational excellence of the HR function. In collaboration with the HR team, the AVP-HR will be instrumental in building a best-in-class department that values and supports all employees as essential contributors to the College’s success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop a strategic HR function: Build a forward-thinking and innovative HR function that attracts, retains, and nurtures a talented and diverse workforce.
• Lead a high-performing HR team: Provide leadership and oversight in areas including benefits and wellness, compensation, talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, learning and development, policy compliance, and HR information systems (HRIS).
• Advise senior leadership: Serve as a trusted advisor to the Vice President for Finance and Administration and the College’s leadership team, offering strategic insights on people, policy, and culture
• Design effective HR structures: Implement an HR organizational structure aligned with stakeholder needs, including manager training, career pathways, performance evaluation, and compensation strategy.
• Foster inclusive culture: Cultivate strong relationships across campus and help all members of the community understand their role in building an inclusive and welcoming environment.
• Integrate best practices: Develop and implement new HR policies, incorporating national best practices and continuous improvement principles.
• Advance workforce diversity: Champion equity in hiring and retention efforts and implement strategies to close representation gaps across populations.
• Engage with College leadership: Advise the President and Board of Trustees as needed on matters of HR strategy, policy, and equity
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
• Extensive, progressively responsible HR leadership experience.
Leadership and Strategic Vision
• Track record of being a transformational leader with a record of leading organizational change.
• Deep understanding of higher education institutions, especially liberal arts environments like Bryn Mawr.
HR Expertise
• Broad generalist knowledge across core HR functions, including compensation and benefits, performance management, talent development, employee relations, and compliance.
• Demonstrated HR ethics and professional integrity.
• People-oriented leader with strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills across all levels of the institution.

• Proven ability to foster an equitable, inclusive workplace culture.
• Cultural competence and experience navigating dialogue across differences.
